Walking

Walking fuels my creativity. I began to walk regularly when I started working full-time for an automotive factory in my hometown Windsor, Ontario. Windsor is known as the Automotive Capital of Canada, and the manufacturing industry has supported the city’s development throughout many years. Working as a line worker in the automotive industry, I became extremely exhausted of the fast paced environment. To help myself deal with the anxiety and to return to a sense of calm and comfort, I began to walk.

Walking is a way I can learn more about myself, the city I live in, and the people who live in it. There are many elements of the urban landscape that catches my eye while I walk and here are some photos I took in Windsor to share with you what makes me stop and pause. As an artist, my goal is to encourage others to take time to take a second look and pay attention to the things that catch your eye. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and think about the changes you would like to see change in your city.

I recently moved to Toronto, Ontario in February 2022, and I am currently walking in this city. I am documenting my walks and learning more about my new neighbourhood in the heart of downtown Toronto.
